Vaccination of the population against the coronavirus has been carried out in the Republic of Serbia since December 24, 2019.

51.7 percent of the adult population received two doses of the vaccine, and vaccination with the third, so-called booster dose of the vaccine began on August 17, for all those who were revaccinated more than six months ago.

Serbia has provided a sufficient number of vaccines and citizens can choose the vaccine they will receive: Pfizer, Sinopharm, Sputnik V or Astrazeneca.

* September 1 - The Gamaleya Institute of Russia approves the use of 550,000 doses of Sputnik V vaccine, which were produced at Torlak by August 13.

Out of 550,000 doses - 275,000 of components 1 and 275,000 of components 2, are ready for use in Serbia, with the label produced in Serbia, while the decision on possible export will be made by the Government of Serbia and the President of the Republic Aleksandar Vučić.

* September 2- Covid Hospital opened in Novi Sad, four months after construction began. This is the third Covid hospital in Serbia, after Batajnica and Krusevac, which started accepting patients with coronavirus on September 3.

* September 4- Raw materials for the production of Chinese vaccine in Serbia arrived in Belgrade, and by October, "Hemofarm" will produce a vaccine for the testing process. Experts who follow the entire testing process and the start of charging have arrived in Serbia and are working with domestic experts on preparation.

After testing, the filling of the vaccine will start in October. The plan is to fill about six million doses by the end of the year. Those doses will be intended primarily for the citizens of Serbia, and if there is a surplus, exports to the region will be considered.

* The cornerstone of the factory for the production of Chinese vaccines in Serbia will be laid on September 9.

During the pandemic, Serbia showed a high degree of responsibility and solidarity by donating close to a million doses of vaccines and plans to continue this trend, in accordance with the possibilities.

Realized donations:

* More than 200,000 doses of vaccine donated to the region

* Nearly 200,000 citizens of the region have been vaccinated in our country

* Donated 100,000 doses to the Czech Republic

* 50,000 doses of vaccine donated to Iran

* 40,000 doses of vaccine to Tunisia

* During Minister Selakovic's recent visit to Africa and the Middle East, 200,000 doses of vaccines were donated.
